EA SPORTS PGA TOUR GOLF to Make Appearance at Ryder’s Cup

September 14, 2004 -- San Jose, CA --This September 14—19, EA SPORTS™ PGA TOUR® GOLF is honored to have a presence at the prestigious Ryder Cup matches to take place at Michigan’s Oakland Hills Country Club. Since 1927, the Ryder Cup biennial matches have evolved from a friendly set of golf matches into one of the world’s premier sporting events with Europe and the United States taking turns hosting.

Oakland Hills Country Club, who will play host to this year’s event, is the site of six U.S. opens and two PGA Championships. The Ryder Cup will be held on the South Course. The wildly popular EA SPORTS™ PGA TOUR® GOLF video game, created by San Jose California-based manufacturer, GLOBAL VR®, will be at the site of an executive mansion on the 18th hole.

GLOBAL VR® Vice President of Corporate Development, Joe Nelson, who will be present at the event says, “It is very exciting to be included alongside a golf event with such a rich history of sportsmanship. As we at GLOBAL VR® are very active in striving to encourage a strong sense of player community through our organized cash-prize tournaments, we regard the Ryder Cup Matches as the perfect example of how to promote friendly competition.”
