FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Pro Video Golfer, Dan Gralapp, Undefeated at Chicago Challenge VI
September 1, 2004 -- San Jose, CA -- Pro Video Golfer, Dan Gralapp, was the undisputed champion of the Sixth Annual Chicago Challenge held July 17th & 18th at Official’s Time Out in Hoffman Estates, IL. The prestigious, annual event is a mainstay to the video golf community. The excitement this year, however, took place on EA SPORTS™ PGA TOUR® CHAMPIONSHIP EDITION III cabinets, as a response to player demand.
Top finishers included, in first place, Dan Gralapp, winning $3,000; Tom Kostos in second, taking $2,000 in cash; and Tim Shannon in third place, raking in $1,500 in prize monies. When asked how he prepares for competitive tournament play, Dan Gralapp shares, “I practice each course. If the qualifier courses are pre-selected, I will start by playing those. I pick my least favorite course and continue to play it until I have seen several setups. If I feel my attention leaving the game, I will go to my favorite course to get my mind back on track. I do this for several days in a row before a live event.”
“The Chicago Challenge has become an increasingly popular
video golf event,” says
GLOBAL PLUS Producer, James Kucera, “We were proud to provide the
platform for competitive play this year.” Game manufacturer, GLOBAL
VR®, was a sponsor of the event and had the following tournament
representatives and staff on-site to see that the event ran smoothly: James
Kucera, OV Bharvirkar, Milind Bharvirkar, Graig Kinzler and Evan Steiner.
